UNPROFESSIONAL, MISLEADING, AND IRRESPONSIBLE LOAN OFFICER – MICHAEL FOOSHEE Our experience with Michael Fooshee as our loan officer was extremely disappointing, misleading, and financially damaging. As first-time homebuyers, it was Michael Fooshee’s direct responsibility to clearly explain our true monthly mortgage payment and all associated costs from the very beginning. Instead, he showed us a monthly mortgage payment that was simply not accurate and grossly incomplete. At no point did Michael Fooshee explain that there would be separate Texas MUD (Municipal Utility District) taxes that were NOT included in the payment he presented to us. Had this been properly disclosed, we would have immediately understood that our real monthly obligation was almost $500 MORE per month than what he showed us. This is not a small oversight — this is a major financial difference that directly affects affordability. Because this critical information was never explained, the taxes went unpaid, and we were eventually SUED by the tax office, with a sheriff coming to our door to notify us of the lawsuit. This was terrifying, stressful, and completely avoidable. What makes this situation even worse is that Michael Fooshee still appears to have no understanding of this issue and takes no responsibility for it. A loan officer who cannot — or does not — clearly explain taxes, escrow, and the true total monthly payment should not be advising buyers, especially first-time homeowners. This experience demonstrates a serious lack of transparency, professionalism, and competence. Simply presenting numbers without full disclosure is misleading and irresponsible. We trusted Michael Fooshee to guide us through one of the biggest financial decisions of our lives, and that trust was badly broken.
Mark was a pleasure to work with! He is very knowledgeable and definitely helped us through the process. As a first time home buyer, having information upfront makes a big difference in our understanding of process and we are able to come up with questions prior to getting to a certain step. There are things we did not know to ask until we got to a new step in the process, but he was always available to explain and ease our concerns. Greatly appreciate him taking our calls through holidays and as he was traveling!
