Mikey has done an amazing job with helping me regain my confidence in the gym and exercising to a really high standard. I've now learned another level of detail when it comes to controlling my body and movements to optimise results and really feel the benefits from the training, everything is done with purpose and well thought out intent. Mikey is a very dedicated trainer and passionate about what he does, he's helped tailor the training to my goals with improving my running skills as well as losing weight and I'm really happy with the results. The range of help offered not only includes the in-person 1 to 1 sessions and workout coaching plans to follow on the app, but also weekly check-ins for regular feedback plus weekly group classes which are amazingly energetic and provide for a really supportive network with other gym goers, great camaraderie and lots of encouragement. This is also reflected in the group Whatsapp chat where TBE members can celebrate their achievements and ask for advice from others. Mikey has been my coach now for a year and 9 months. In that time we've worked on many aspects of my training needs. From weight training, body conditioning, Olympic lifting techniques and gymnastics for crossfit style workouts, to the mental mindset side of training, goal setting and nutrition. During that time, I've seen improvements in my physique and my aerobic base, and achieved PB's in both the gym and in competitions, such as Turf Games. I've recently seen these improvements carry over into my other sports, of cycling and fell racing. Mikey doesn't just train you in the gym. His 1:1 sessions are brilliant for honing skills and improving technical elements. But he also excels at his level of detail in the other parts of training, such as his video analysis, his online support and the team community he has built. These have all contributed well in maintaining my progress and achieving the goals I've set. The team environment helps with support and overall morale, while Mikeys programming is often collaborative, based on goals I've set, and helps to push my ability levels further. When I first approached Mikey, I was an experienced gym member but felt like I had lost my way a bit. No goals, no motivation, no strategy. Mikey helped me get back on track and then encouraged me to try new forms of fitness that have helped me become the version I am of myself today.
Mikey is great to work with, his constant dedication to planning for an individual and also as a group setting. Since joining the body engineer team and working with Mikey in July I have done things I never thought I could do. I have surpassed goals I had set myself. I feel stronger and fitter than I have for years and my physique has improved massively as a side effect of this. The rest of the team has welcomed me in and the sessions have been fantastic from the 1-2-1 sessions to the team training sessions and team calls. I can’t recommend Mikey highly enough.
Before I worked with mikey I was one of them guys who trained weights, did my cardio and never really pushed to learn anything new. I came off the back of a photoshoot and had set my goals on a new challenge which was to take part in a Hyrox and push myself to become the fitness and strongest I have been. Mikey unlocked the door for me to the functional world, got me in the best condition possible for my hyrox event which ultimately for my first one went above and beyond what I expected. From here we sat down and set up a new challenge, take part in turf games london 2024. This meant learning and unlocking alot of new skills and venturing more into the functional and CrossFit world. Mikey was there to support me every step of the way. His communication, programming and commitment was second to none and as a Gym manager who works in this industry, it was refreshing to see and a delight to work with. Furthermore, mikey was a part of the team who competed with me, this meant experiencing many team training sessions with him, it’s clear to see his knowledge and commitment to his work isn’t just through his coaching, but his genuine commitment to everything he does in a practical setting too. I’m a walking example of how it is possible in just under a year to go from been stuck in a bit of a rut with training to competing at events such as Hyrox and turf games, and not just turning up for the numbers but genuinely performing well - this is all compliments to mikey.
