The kids love it here. The upstairs smaller wall is perfect for beginners with 3 auto belay devices.
We had the most wonderful birthday party! It was so easy and our coach John & Marj were phenomenal. Kids and parents had such a great time. 10/10 highly recommend!!
We’re learning how to rock climb and this has been a good home base for us. Overall, there are a range of classes for kids and adults. I would like it even more if there were better schedules and class options for kids. There are so many rock climbing gyms for adults only in this area and it would be great for there to be better programs for kids.
Great climbing gym for all type of people. They have a kids area, gym, bouldering wall, and belay wall. It's perfect for people who are just starting to get into climbing and those who already know there way around.
The facility is great but unfortunately something has happened and there are very few routes to climb at the Louisville Spot and the one in Boulder. The walls are blank compared to the better gyms around the country and the world. I basically climb the same routes over and over again for months; I’d go somewhere else but this gym is close to my house and they have autobelays. In the photos below, you will see the main lead wall which has 9 routes on it and half of them are 13+ and harder, which of course very few of us can get off the ground. This is roughly a month after a competition, so there has been plenty of time to fill the walls with routes. For comparison, I added a photo of one of the lead walls at the Innsbruck Kletterzentrum in Austria, probably the most famous and well-respected gym in the world, where the world comp climbers go to train to get the highest level of training - the lead wall has lots of routes to choose from. It seems something has changed in the management’s philosophy (or budget for route setting) and they seem to want to have few routes and blank walls - because the same is happening in the bouldering area and at the Spot Boulder. It looks nice, like a competition wall, but there’s just not much to climb given that there is so much wall space. Bummer. I emailed the management sharing my opinions (as a paying member) and asking for clarity and have heard nothing in return. Regardless, you can get a good workout here. The gym has auto-belays, hang boards and campus boards, a workout gym and some cardio machines, a handful of Yoga classes per week, kiddy climbing rooms, a gear store, wifi, climbing instructors and some free classes, showers in the locker rooms, and very friendly staff. You have to lead on your own ropes. You can use chalk. LGBTQ+ and diversity friendly and supportive.
