Loved this spot. The coffee was great. I had the almond croissant which I didn't love, but I had some of my partner's cardamom scroll which was divine - poor picking on my part! There were only a couple of seats, so it was quite busy with people coming in and out, but that's ok! Chatty servers who made some great onward recommendations 🙂

Good pastry, subpar customer service. The pastry is quite good. However, the service with a smile practice just isn't there, no matter how many times I have gone there. A piece of advice to the staff: don't make customers wait outside in the rain when the store opens. Drop whatever you are doing and serve the customer. And don't make the people who come into your shop feel like their custom is bothering you. Despite the lack of congeniality at this Brunswick St. location and since I like Twelve Triangles' pastry, I have decided to go to a different location.

Twelve Triangles is a hole in the wall java stop off Leith Walk on Brunswick. They have a small selection of great pastries and a super java offering. The hosts were kind and helpful. Not really somewhere that you stop...it's best suited for take away. 5 x ☕☕☕☕☕

Tried the pistachio bramble croissant. Pastry was nice and flakey and well filled with bramble flavor. The pistachio flavor didn't really come through. Millionaire shortbread was delicious.

Popped by recently on a Sunday morning while on a weekend break to Edinburgh! I liked being able to see the pastries in the window, in order to decide what you want before going into the tiny store! The staff were really warm and welcoming, and advised on the products they enjoy. I picked up the Hazelnut Pain au Chocolat and a Pain Suisse. Both pastries looked stunning. I decided to save the Pain Suisse for a later day, but ate the Pain au Chocolat shortly after purchasing. This was really tasty! The pastry itself had a nice amount of crunch and squish, though I would have liked a little more crunch. The hazelnut frangipane through the centre was super flavourful and there was just the right amount! The chocolate through the middle was of a good quality but slightly overpowered the hazelnut when consuming both simultaneously. Regardless, this was a very good pastry and I would purchase it again! I'd recommend twelve triangles based on this bake. However, I must note that my friend got the pistachio blackcurrant croissant, and could not taste any pistachio! Update - I heated the Cross Laminated Pain Suisse from frozen - this was absolutely incredible! The filling was a perfect balance of vanilla creme and chocolate chips (which cut the sweeteness perfectly). Even though I had frozen the product, it was still super buttery and I got a good crisp all the way around. One of the best pain suisse I have ever had - highly recommend!
