Ok, I went in here for a gym membership, a trail of three week period, had a great time there at the gym, had access to everything there, diving, badminton, and other things but didn't really use it and also I was stacked up then, and also had no partner with me to play. But the induction was great. Had a great time using the gym, atleast like twice in the three weeks, once I was given a training though, so I was able to do the gym excercise using the gym equipments and facilities, it was perfect! The staff and training people were good. Definitely wish I would have used the full sports facilities, but better luck next time!
I joined today, the equipment and cleanliness is 10/10. I deducted a star because there was a man who was walking around with a camera no bigger than 2 inches on his chest and at first I thought maybe it was promotional footage but he didn’t really speak to anyone, he just sort of did a lap or two around the gym went on a cardio machine for literally 1 minute and then left. I wasn’t sure if it was done in a creepy way or if he was affiliated with the gym but he didn’t have a uniform or anything on so it just felt a little off. But besides that the vine was pretty good!
I'm a regular pool user due to my back pain. Albeit its website describes this place as "one of the best swimming pools in Merseyside", I don't agree. Building is old and the lack of maintenance is clear: pool's filters look dirty and some lockers are faulty. Today I had a shower in darkness. Toilets are usually clean, but old, sure. Apart from this, some users don't know how to behave in the pool. Most of them don't wear sliders or take a shower before entering the water, as required. Besides, pool has 4 lanes, each for a different swimming level. Users join a lane randomly and sometimes block everyone's workout - this pool clearly needs more lane ropes to create extra lanes. Likewise, some users never step aside when they need resting or stand talking to each other at the end of the lane, hence rest of users have to dodge them to avoid crashing. In some other cases, you bump into someone who is voluntary floating in the middle of the lane (?) or practicing water polo (?). Yes, water polo. These behaviours can affect everyone's safety.
This is a lovely place to swim with slow, medium or fast pace lanes. Plenty of changing rooms, showers are nice and not cold ( sometimes warm, sometimes hot). There are a few hairdryers, although one of them doesn't work at the moment.Monday's at 6pm are very busy with some people just standing at the ends of the lanes talking which is very disrupting to people swimming. Mornings are the best time to go, it's less busy. I would very much recommend swimming here. Reception staff are very nice and helpful.
Facilities were decent enough but the reception staff were questionable. The male and female staff member working on Friday 9th May at 4pm made it quite obvious that I was interrupting their conversation. So much so that they couldn’t stop gossiping even while I was paying. Unfriendly all round.
