Booked through The Fork with a 50% off only on food. That was the incentive for trying this place. The service and the ambience was good but the food quality was just ok, nothing stood out. Portions weren't too big for £15 (although it was more than enough for us as we had starters and it was 50% off). My chocolate fondant didn't have a gooey core so it was basically a chocolate cake. Maybe we didn't choose properly as the restaurant has very good reviews. Charcuterie boards looked amazing. Maybe next time. Service was good. Both waitresses were nice.
Stopped here for a quick lunch, the food was amazing. I would recommend the Carbonara and affogato. I loved the creamy mushroom pasta and the chocolate fondant as well, they have a few vegetarian options which is pretty nice. Would love to try their pizzas next time. The service was good too!
A few days ago I went to Veeno Edinburgh to meet with a friend and I am happy to say that I will be returning! The food was absolutely Devine and the atmosphere was so cozy and relaxed. I opted for the carbonara (which was spectacular) as well as the tiramisu. However the highlight of my dining experience was Alex, our waiter. He was always so friendly, offering us insightful food suggestions and was a fountain of knowledge when it came to wine pairings. He genuinely made my day and went above for us. If you’re in Edinburgh fancying some Italian, I’d highly recommend you try here.
I booked a dinner at Veeno for a 1 year anniversary with my partner, when we walked in we weren’t too sure how we felt about the place, but that all changed when our server Alex came over to us. He took a lot of time explaining the background of the restaurant, cracked some jokes and was very kind and patient with us. Food was amazing and Alex got us complementary drinks to celebrate our 1 year. When we finished our main, Alex was serving another table a selection of different wine. He explained the background of each wine and what to expect from it, and for a non drinker like myself, he made it very interesting. The atmosphere inside Veeno was amazing, you can definitely tell everyone there loves their jobs and it feels very family like. We then got desert which was very nice as well, and at the end, Alex finished it off by giving us both another complimentary drink for us to try. Service was phenomenal and the food was even better. I couldn’t recommend Veeno more.
A Hidden Gem on Rose Street. My daughter booked a table for Saturday evening, and thank goodness she had as the restaurant was fully booked and turning walk-ins away. The food was fantastic - fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented. The service from Alex and Scarlett was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming throughout. Veeno feels like a real hidden gem in the city: cosy atmosphere, excellent food and staff who clearly care about giving guests a great experience. This is my 2nd experience of dining at a Veeno restaurant (previously Bristol) and certainly won’t be my last. Highly recommended.
