Yoko Dining in Brisbane serves tasty Japanese-style food, and most dishes were very good, though the salad was too salty. The staff were friendly and attentive. However, the tables are very close together with little privacy, the food came out slowly (some dishes took about 20 minutes), and if you drive, you’ll likely need to park elsewhere and walk. There is also a surcharge on Sundays and public holidays.
We paid $350 per person plus surcharges, expecting at the very least decent food and drinks. What we got was incredibly disappointing. Aside from the sashimi and oysters served at the start, everything else was poor. The rice was cold, the steaks were thin and certainly did not resemble premium wagyu quality, and the cabbage salad was just bland and uninspired. Desserts were equally disappointing — cheap-tasting. The drinks offering felt like a complete afterthought. Other than the single glass of champagne on arrival, the menu consisted of very basic wines you’d expect to pay around $20 a bottle for. For a premium NYE event, that’s UNACCEPTABLE. Customer service was also lacking. It felt understaffed and poorly organised — at one point it seemed like there was only a single staff member pouring drinks for the entire outdoor area. To her credit, she clearly tried her best, but the restaurant itself should have planned far better for a night charging these prices. I understand that NYE pricing is higher and restaurants want to make a profit — but this crossed the line into a blatant rip-off. The entire experience felt rushed, low-effort, and extremely poor value for money. Honestly, it was disgusting for the price charged. Would not return.
Celebrated my citizenship on 18.10.2025. Only thing is that they did not say congrats or anything about it, however we had a really nice time and the food was soo delicious & flavoursome! Our faves were the miso eggplant, Nikkei ceviche, tempura softshell crab roll & the miso caramel soft serve. The cocktail was delicious too, I think I had the Yuzu Spritz! Would recommend and will be happy to return!
Yoko on the water was absolutely outstanding. From start to finish, the service was impeccable — friendly, attentive, and professional. The food was exceptional, with every dish full of flavour and beautifully presented. The karaage chicken was the highlight dish of the night, some of the best I’ve had. It was cooked to perfection. The quality and attention to detail truly blew us away. Combined with the stunning riverside setting, it made for an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend Yoko for anyone looking for top-tier food and service in Brisbane! Will definitely be back. IG @mealsbymons ✨
Amazing food. Had the big banquet for 2. Delicious doesn't begin to describe it. Annie was an amazing host and explained everything on each plate to us. Fantastic time, highly recommend.
