Dropped in for open mat at La Costa BJJ Academy and it was exactly what you hope for. Tough rounds, zero ego, solid vibes. Everyone rolled hard but smart, lots of skilled partners, and a welcoming energy from the first slap to the last bump. Left tired, humbled, and smiling. That’s a good time.

Dropped in for open mat so I could put in some hours while on travel for work. No regrets! Joe and his guys seem to have been able to hit that nice balance of giving you resistance so you have enough to learn on while keeping you safe: I knew that all the subs they pulled on me were in even if they never really crank it so I could tap early; that's how well they have mastered their positions. Got smashed all around but these are some of the best rolls I have had from a learning standpoint. Definitely coming back to DLC Academy whenever I am in Ottawa!

Super welcoming environment, clean facility, and most importantly, fantastic rolls with skilled and respectful training partners.
