I cannot speak highly enough of Andrew Carter. I walked into LBR as a busy mother of two, with no gym/athletic experience, and Andrew helped me change my life. He is calm and reassuring, but make no mistake, he will challenge you to reach your full potential. I always looked forward to our sessions because he kept them exciting. His vast athletic knowledge means that different training styles are incorporated to strengthen skills in every area. It’s hard to believe that I’ve come this far. It’s been almost a year since I started confidently training on my own, but I owe Andrew a lifetime of gratitude!
***Update below*** I had an initial consultation with Andrew to discuss my goals and the importance of a program tailored to my strengths and weaknesses. He advised that he would email a form to collect personal data and measurements prior to my assessment session the following week, but the email never arrived. I chose to overlook it and proceeded with the assessment. The assessment itself went well, and it was clear that Andrew has strong knowledge of training principles. We scheduled a follow-up session to review the exercises in my personalized program. I was told the program would be sent to me beforehand, but again, no email came. Despite this, the session was productive, and I felt confident in the exercises we covered. At the end of the session, Andrew said he would send me the full program later that day, along with a few generic options. Two days later, I received a single workout session—the one we had completed together—plus two generic workouts. I replied to ask where the full program was. After more than two weeks without a response, I reached out again. Andrew eventually replied, explaining that he had forgotten to send my core plan and had been on vacation. He apologized for the oversight and stated he would send the full program that same evening. Three days passed with no further communication. At this point, I have lost confidence in the service and have looked at other options. It is unfortunate, as I prefer to support local businesses, but the level of follow-through and communication did not align with what was presented during the consultation. ***Update*** After I posted my review, the owner, Lawrence, reached out to me directly. He apologized for the experience, took full responsibility, and promptly offered a refund. He also offered a free session as a goodwill gesture, which I appreciated. Even though I’ve already moved on to another training option, I want to give credit where it’s due. Lawrence handled this really well, owned the situation, and clearly cares about his business and clients. Because of how this was handled, I’ve updated my rating.
Andrew my personal coach, is amazing. He knows my limits and when to push my boundaries. Also, giving me a variety of exercises to keep it interesting and fun. No pain but just know that my body is activated and it is giving me the much energy and condition my body needs at this time in my life. Looking forward to this healthy journey.
I have been training with Lawrence at LBR for over 2 years and it has been a great experience. I was new to weight training at the time and Lawrence made it easy to build up and see progress and insured that I didn't get injured, in fact he has been able to resolve injuries that I struggled with for many years. He mixes up work outs so that it doesn't get boring and I am continuously challenged. I am stronger and feel much healthier than I did prior to training. I would highly recommend LBR, it is a great location with great trainers.
My experience so far at LBR has been excellent. Lawrence has a vast experience and knowledge and his approach is no non-sense and very efficient. I am 60 years old and avid tennis competitor and went to LBR to maintain and improve my overall physical condition and it is doing just that.
