I joined in early october with zero martial arts experience, only 12 classes and I have had a large transformation. In the fundamental classes you drill and learn with other beginners, even the coaches will jump in and drill with you to help you grasp the movements. iv seen negative reviews about drilling with only beginners at first but i think this is from an egotistical side of things, if you dont know the fundamentals you will have no chance at understanding the more complex moves or even being able to drill properly with the more experience students.(also there are scheduled days where everyone drills together not separated so you can choose for yourself) The Instructors are very good at what they do, helping break down each nuance of a move. The open mat after helps you to meet everyone and learn from all levels even the coaches themselves. Everyone has a very welcoming personality and thats what i truly enjoy. If you are looking for a high quality academy lead by a real practitioner of the art this is the place. You will actually learn alot in a stress free environment (im an introvert so that says alot) . So yeah if you are thinking of giving bjj a shot , i recommend this academy.

Joining St Paul BJJ Academy has been one of the best decisions I've made in a long time, I wish I had joined sooner! I have enjoyed everything about St Paul BJJ - especially the people, it's very impressive how welcoming and not intimidating everyone is. Great job leading and setting the tone Brandon!

After years of wanting to try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu...I took my first class yesterday morning! I don't know why I waited so long. The process to sign up for an introductory class online was very easy! Coach reached out and answered any questions I had before my first class, and after our brief talk I was motivated and excited in taking this next step. The facilities are very clean and professional. The atmosphere in the gym was amazing. Everyone was friendly and respectful and made me feel at ease. I don't think I've ever poured as much sweat in an hour in my life! After the session I just couldn't stop smiling. I'm sore this morning, but I can't wait to get back onto the mats. If you're looking for a top tier place to train BJJ, this is the place!

It's been a little over a year since I joined St. Paul Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy, and it's been great. I joined without any previous martial arts, and everyone has been very welcoming and understanding as I learn. If you are considering trying out BJJ for the first time, I would highly recommend St. Paul Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy.

In town for work and I've really enjoyed the time spent on the mats at this gym. The way the coaches game-fy positions for learning is really great and speeds up learning process. It's difficult to get quality training due to fatigue and my schedule on the road, but I definitely feel like I got 1% better coming here this week.
