I’ve been coming to Sun Yoga since last summer, and honestly, it has become such a special place close to my heart. Every time I walk through the doors, I feel like I can leave all my worries behind, just as their sign says—and it truly feels that way. 🌿✨ A huge shoutout to the team and especially to the founder, Manisha, who is always there for everyone—whether it’s yoga-related guidance or even technical or administrative help 😊. Their support, understanding, and warmth make this place feel like a true second home. 💛 The teachers at Sun Yoga are amazing. Every teacher brings something unique, and every class feels personal, caring, and supportive. They help you with poses, offer guidance without any judgment, and make you feel genuinely cared for. The other students are lovely too, adding to the welcoming and positive energy here. 🌸🧘 I’ve also attended a couple of their Power of Sound meditative sessions, and I can honestly say it was an enlightening experience—truly connecting deeply with your inner self. 🎶💫 Sun Yoga is more than just a yoga studio; it’s a place of peace, growth, and community. There's something truly magical about SUN Yoga. I've been practicing here for about a year now and the experience has transformed both my body and my mind. The impact of these classes extends far beyond the studio walls. One of the most valuable lessons I've learned is that yoga isn't about muscling through the poses, but about finding ease and relaxation within each posture. This mindset has carried over into my everyday life. Just as I've learned to release tension on the mat, I've learned not to muscle through life - not to hold my breath or force my way through challenges. Instead, I focus on breathing, relaxing and moving mindfully through each moment. The shift has helped me notice the beauty that surrounds me and has created space in my mind for creativity and calm. While the progress is gradual, it's truly life-changing. Like entering a secret world that not everyone discovers but that we all have access to.
I have been doing yoga for about 4 years or more and I have been to different yoga places but I can confidently say that Sun Yoga is one of the best place I have been. All the teachers are highly experienced and helps me develop my practice in a way that is mindful of my body, flexibility and strength. They are all very knowledgeable about poses. The breathing technique help me in my day to day life. It is really nourishing to spend my days foucusing on myself and my wellbeing in a warm, peaceful and beautiful environment with a very small group. I would definitely recommend taking classes at this place.
As a manual wheelchair user, finding an inclusive yoga studio has always been a challenge. Many of the mainstream studios I reached out to—places I used to attend before I was paralyzed—told me they couldn’t accommodate me or my wheelchair. It was incredibly disheartening. These experiences opened my eyes to how much of the Western yoga industry prioritizes appearance over true accessibility and inclusivity. What I encountered wasn’t the essence of yoga—it was a filtered, commercial version that lacked depth and connection. Then I found Sun Yoga, and everything changed. When I reached out, Manisha welcomed me with open arms and a genuine heart. While the studio itself isn’t fully accessible, she went out of her way to make sure I could access it safely and comfortably. That effort alone spoke volumes—but what I’ve learned since stepping into Sun Yoga has been life changing. Manisha teaches yoga rooted in true Indian philosophy, and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. She’s guiding me to be still, to breathe with intention—simple yet powerful practices that so many of us overlook or take for granted. I’m not just learning yoga; I’m unlearning harmful narratives and rediscovering the rich cultural roots and spiritual depth of a practice that has often been distorted in the West. If you’re looking for a yoga studio that is real, different, culturally respectful, and deeply authentic, Sun Yoga is the place. This is not cultural appropriation—this is yoga as it was meant to be shared. I highly recommend it and am proud to say I’ll be a long-time student here.
I recently attended the Mantra and Kirtan workshop at Sun Yoga Edmonton, and it was an incredibly enriching experience. Manisha is a wonderful teacher—deeply knowledgeable, warm, and engaging. She didn’t just guide us through the chants; she also shared the correct pronunciation and the theology behind each mantra, which really deepened my understanding and connection to the practice. The workshop was thoughtfully structured and accessible, whether you’re new to chanting or have been practicing for years. Each session felt both spiritual and educational, and the energy in the room was beautiful. Sun Yoga continues to offer meaningful, heart-centered experiences, and I’m grateful for the care and depth that went into this one. Highly recommend!
