My spa experience was really lovely. The massage I had with Craig was excellent. The only reason I’m giving a four star rating is because the leisure centre facilities (such as the sauna, jacuzzi and steam room) are a bit run down and too small for the number of people using them.
Bit of a mixed bag really… all of these occurrences in isolation aren’t a big deal, but when combined leave a bit of a disappointed cloud over the day… This was a 40th birthday gift so I had set my expectations too high perhaps. 1. As we turned up at the spa, we hired spa bags (around £15 each) at reception and the receptionist noticed that one robe was missing its waist tie. We were relaxed and understanding about it, and suggested staff could bring us one by the pool. They promised to do so…but never did. 2. We had purchased a package which included prosecco - we waited patiently by the bar for ages (in full view of reception whilst they served another customer). We continued to wait, then had to go back to reception to specifically ask for the prosecco as included in our package. 3. I wanted to treat myself to a product at the end of the day but reception were reluctant to make a sale. They guessed the price with a sharp intake of breath as if I couldn’t afford it (they said “they thought” a medium Elemis Rose cleansing balm was around £80 - I know it isn’t, even the largest size is only £90 full price! But they didn’t even check the price/take it to the till for me to make sure). They seemed to want to be anywhere but there/just get home at the end of the day (although it wasn’t late). Otherwise on to the positive - 1. A lovely heated pool, jacuzzi and steam room. Clean lockers and changing room area. 2. Hannah gave a great back, neck and shoulder massage. 3. It wasn’t too busy - plenty of loungers around and we didn’t have to wait too long for space in the jacuzzi. Key takeaway - I’d say this is more of a gym which happens to have spa facilities (lovely Elemis ones, at that) rather than somewhere to go for a special day out, but we made the most of it. It seems that some reasonably priced packages are available via groupon/wowcher etc, so I’d suggest booking that way rather than pay above the odds for a mixed service.
Amazing spa day with my partner, we were first greeted and checked in by Evan who was absolutely amazing from the time we arrived to when we left, such a helpful and friendly person with great attitude!! We both had treatments at the spa, my touch facial, arms and feet treatment was amazing from start to finish, could not recommend Coral enough, very friendly, polite and professional. My partner had his treatment done by Craig who was also amazing, very friendly and professional. We also used the facilities which were all great, gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and pool. Lunch was fab! Will definitely be visiting again very soon!!
I joined the Health club over a year ago. Unfortunately I had to have two months away from the club due to a hip replacement . I would like to highlight the fact that Dan Simms at the club was simply brilliant and empathetic in the way he advised me re the freezing of my membership whilst I was away. I have since returned to the club and was warmly greeted by Dan who asked me how I was and how my recovery was going. A true caring Gentleman. The facilities at the club are still in my opinion first class and are assisting me no end in my recovery from my operation. 👍😊
I went here for a solo spa day yesterday as a birthday treat to myself, and it was such a lovely experience! My favourite part was the Elemis facial treatment that Elle gave me — she took the time to ask about my skin, personalised the experience and use of products from this, and was all-throughout very kind, attentive, and made feel calm and relaxed! It was the best facial treatment I've had at a spa before, and I would kindly like for her to be recognised for all of the above please. Before the treatment, I relaxed by the pool, swam, and used all the facilities and it was generally rather quiet (but it was a Wednesday morning!). Would come again :)
